Foggy glass is a failed seal, not dirty glass
If the haze in your patio door will not clean off from either side, the glass is not dirty — the insulated unit has lost its seal. Modern sliding door glass is two panes bonded around a spacer with dry air or argon sealed between them. When that perimeter seal fails, humid Orlando air gets drawn in, condenses against the cold inner surface and leaves the mineral haze you are looking at. Nothing you spray on it will reach the inside of the sandwich.
Florida is unusually hard on those seals. Daily thermal cycling between full afternoon sun and an air-conditioned interior flexes the unit constantly, and our humidity means there is always moisture waiting to be pulled in the moment the seal opens up. 1. Measure and identify
We measure the glass unit precisely and identify the thickness, the spacer and how the panel is glazed. Getting this right the first time is why we measure before ordering rather than working from the door’s nominal size.
2. The unit is made to your door
Insulated glass units are cut to order, so there is a short lead time. Tempered safety glass is standard for sliding doors and required by code in this application — we do not substitute annealed glass to shave a few days off.
3. Fitting and cleanup
The panel comes out, the old unit is removed and disposed of, the new one is set and sealed, and the door is re-hung and adjusted so it rolls and latches properly. We take the broken glass with us.
